DIRECTOR

Andrés Del Real heads Arteaga Gorziglia's Dispute Resolution and Arbitration Practice. He specializes in domestic and international, commercial, construction and investment arbitration, as well as civil litigation, bankruptcy proceedings, regulatory and constitutional actions.

  • Advised Sociedad Concesionaria Vespucio Oriente S.A. in legal matters related to its construction and operation.
  • Advised China Southern Power Grid International (CSGI), in its participation in a consortium for the operation and execution of the HVDC Kimal - Lo Aguirre Transmission Line Project (1,500 Km and 2,000 MW of capacity), for an amount of USD $1,500 MM.
  • Advised Walmart Chile in all claims related to the "El Peñón" Project -a USD 180 MM investment-, a distribution center for Walmart products in the Metropolitan Region of Santiago, ranging from local regulations, the issuance of the construction permit and other authorizations required for the construction phase, to the permits and certifications required to start the operation phase, as well as its representation in constitutional protection actions and environmental judicial proceedings.
  • Advice and representation of an electric distribution company in arbitration proceedings against a contractor in a conflict related to the construction of electric substations.
  • Advice and representation of a food company and related companies in three international commercial arbitrations in connection with the relationship with former partners of the same.
  • Advice and representation of mining services company in arbitration dispute related to construction of machinery.
  • Advice and representation of electric distribution company in civil lawsuit against it for nullity of contract.
  • Advice and representation of an electricity generating company in its judicial reorganization proceeding.
  • Advice and representation of a German business group in protection actions against it for the development of projects in Chile.
  • Advice and representation of electricity distribution company in arbitration initiated against it by mining concessionaire.
  • Advice and representation of a higher education institution in a lawsuit filed against the State of Chile for claiming the amount of compensation for expropriation.
  • Advice and representation of family group in arbitration trial in dispute between partners regarding forced compliance of obligations, dissolution of partnership and rendering of accounts.
  • Advice and representation of private investment fund in civil lawsuit for recovery of property usurped by a third party.
  • Advice and representation of an energy company in a civil lawsuit filed by a former consultant in connection with non-competition and confidentiality clauses.
  • Advice and representation of generating company in multiple legal proceedings related to the taking of material possession and claims for appraisals in electric easements for the location of transmission lines.
  • Advice and representation of a financial services company in a sanctioning proceeding of the Superintendencia de Bancos Instituciones Financieras (Superintendency of Banks and Financial Institutions) regarding the collection of interest from its clients.
